Blake celebrate the life & death of William Blake

Stephen Bowman “Such an incredible honour to sing at the newly unveiled gravestone for William Blake this afternoon, so very moving. If you’d like to see the moment we sang (though please do watch through the fabulous speakers & choir before us!) we are in the last 5 minutes of this stream.”  The Blake Society https://www.facebook.com/The-Blake-Society-208774852588428/?hc_ref=ARR167d8hzmNt7OlV8okql5TNIG33pIFEDhI3fvW2dZ5wc3Y-4zP8T6YalT2oZq6ZTc

Blake “Singing Jerusalem at the graveside of William Blake – surrounded by hundreds of fellow appreciators of perhaps England’s finest poet & painter combined. We felt genuinely overcome by emotion as we sang his words at this special occasion; finally a resting place deserving of such a magnificent man.”

Amazingly wonderful day for BLAKE 🎶
They sang ‘Jerusalem’ at unveiling of William Blake’s grave site.
Lovely service with their a capella performance closing ceremony.

#WilliamBlake
#Blake was born on November 28, 1757, at 28 Broad Street, Soho, London. He was poet, painter, and printmaker during the romantic era. He is known for having many philosophical and mystical undertones in his works. He was born in London where he spent the majority of his life, only moving away for 3 years. William Blake never received the recognition he deserved while he was living.

BLAKE·

“On Sunday Blake will sing at the grave stone of William Blake, the writer & painter that we took our name from 12 years ago. William Blake was buried in a paupers grave, up until now in an unknown location, but due to the hard work of the Blake society, the location of his actual grave has been discovered and a new grave stone created in his honour. We three boys so often discuss Blake & his many artistic works & we also sing Jerusalem (featuring his beautiful words) at all our concerts. As such, for the first time in our career, we will sing Jerusalem acapela, by his graveside, 191 years after his death. For those that would like to be part of this special moment, the service will start at 3pm at Bunhill Fields, 38 City Road, London. All are welcome to attend. We hope to see many of you there to celebrate the life & death of William Blake” #blake #grave #headstone #wake#funeral #service #blakesociety #williamblake #singing #Jerusalem #honor #tribute
